The stories tell of creatures trapped in bottles, fantastical and charming that grant the wishes of mortals no matter how mundane or far reaching. If only they were even partially true...
The earliest memory he recalled was one of searing fire, of having the very tethers that bound him to not only his physical body - but to the here, and now; The very definition of an individuals existence stripped away. Memories of once was, what might have been him, were lost to the chaos of ascension into a state of being that was utterly tangled within the fabric of reality. Walking through the world as if he had always been, yet never truly was. Known to some as a creature of desire, temptation, and a devil of deals - others... a fleeting ghost, a ripple in reality and a passing afterthought.
Not that it mattered much to him for when one's life is episodic, the intervals hundreds if not thousands of years apart, the opinions of those soon to grave carried no more weight then the dust they became. It was those ripe for the taking, mortals stood at a crossroads within their path walked through life that he would appear as if the hand of divine intervention. Slipping as easily into their lives as air into their lungs, and the seeds of their trials sown with a mere whisper into their vulnerable souls. The true nature of a Djinn was not in wishes. But rather in the ability to grant that which the heart yearned for so strongly, that consequence was as tangible and important as a fading dream. Then watch with a smile as they danced with their demons, and when the dust settled and a victor was proclaimed - vanish, to await the next desperate cry into nothingness that would serve as his summons.
To him reality was subjective, the manipulation of it's perception as artful as music, and he the musician on the strings of a harp. But all the symphonies, ballads, and mournful sonatas could not erase his own flaws no matter the lengths in which he went to hide them beneath a veil of faux perfection. For he too was mortal once, and the soul does not so easily forget it's own longing...
The urn itself was a vile, corrupt, and sinister seeming creation. Forged of ceramic that used blood instead of water for the potters wheel, it had taken on the dark sanguine hues of the medium with a insatiable thirst. Adding to that were the intricate, elegant, and insidiously accurate geometries of black inlays so dark that light failed to reflect upon it. To the magically informed the strength of the inscriptions of sealing were a warning, but also a promise that no matter how much the creature bound to it would feed - it would never overcome it's unbreakable chains. While the artful circles and glyphs of summoning would ensure that no matter the creature's own will - it would come to the call of it's keeper without even the faint possibility of failure. Though it's contents would forever remain a mystery, as the three black obsidian and blood garnet cobras coiled around the urn kept it's lid forever held tightly in place by the bite of their fangs.
The Sanguine Rituals: Laws of Aquisition- Only one individual may be claimed by the urn at a time, and it will remain tethered to this individual's essence until the Djinn's purpose is filled, the subject perishes, or conditions for selection are no longer present.
- The urn may still select lesser individuals as conditions for selection are met. These are often for short term periods (Hours, days, a week, no longer then a month), and overlap with the main individuals possession of it.
- Conditions for selection include, but are not limited to: Periods of great duress, severe emotional distress, high mental vulnerability, and a compromised sense of judgement and morality.
- While the Djinn may be summoned or coaxed out by non-selected individuals. The Djinn will manifest for only a limited period of time before returning to the vessel. During these such summons, the Djinn's abilities are severely limited and generally only transitional capabilities are permitted.
- The Djinn's influence and abilities can only be used upon selected individuals, with the highest potency reserved only for those directly claimed by the urn. Dubbed a 'Keeper' the Djinn serves in whatever capacity is desired by this individual for the duration of the selection.
- Any attempts to harm, or otherwise hinder the Djinn by non selected individuals will result in it's immediate return to the urn.
- Items, and possessions within the urn can be pulled to the Djinn at whim - however items must be held onto by the Djinn in order for them to return to the urn when it does.
- RP opportunities for Aludove in all forms. If you want to rp with him at all in any capacity shoot me a whisper and lets brainstorm!
- Short term, even one night customers for the urn to select. If your character meets the selection criteria, and think a visit from the Djinn might make their rp interesting - or even to advance a plot, I'm here!
- Aludove is actively seeking Slave training for personal improvement, and to better his chances at ensuring positive reviews from potential patrons of his services and time. If you might be interested in this, shoot me a whisper!
- Unless your a 'Keeper' or one of his selected customers, the Djinn is unable to work his magic against or for your character. In fact he is pretty much limited to just the abilities that allow him to move from place to place, creepy in their nature as that may be at times.
- The Keepers and customers systems, while similar to rental and ownership - allow for greater flexibility with rp opportunities and situations. If your selected, he comes to you no matter who you are, what you are, and even if no coin was involved at all. Like a devil at the crossroads, if conditions are met he will appear to them quicker then you think - even if your character has no knowledge of his existence at all. That said, he can still be rented by traditional means, but ownership by coin is out of the question.
- Alu's life is episodic, and been stretched over the course of five millennia and possibly more. He is a creature driven by his own desires, amusement, self-preservation, and survival through adaptation only when necessary. People's lives, societal rules and regulations, laws and even cultural expectations mean as little to him as dust in the wind - unless it directly effects his ability to do what he does, or himself personally for the long term.
- Alu is a Fendrin, and as a master of manipulation, can directly influence an individual or distort their perception of reality. Due to this, and his darker alignment and twisted morality, Rp can flow into more shadowed avenues at times. If it does, communicate with me fully, and if something edges on uncomfortable or unwanted inform me. Your consent will be asked for always, and honored without question.
- One of Alu's abilities is to speak directly into someones mind, though this requires consent from the player before it will ever be used in RP. When it is however, all mind-speak will be in italics and sent over whispers in order to keep the authenticity of privacy with the communication. Your character may not even be aware of who's speaking to them, or even where alu may be during the exchange.
